There is a lot more to roofs than shingles and gutters, terms recognizable by most people. With focus on the roofline, there are two important components, fascias and soffits. These two components go together like nuts and bolts. You cannot have one without the other. A fascia is the long straight piece that runs along the side of the roofline. The soffits are tucked under the fascia. Years ago both components were made using wood. But with newer materials available, namely UPVC, wood is not generally used in modern construction.
Unplasticised polyvinyl chloride is superior to wood because it is cheaper and weather resistant, practically weather proof. Fascias and soffits are available in many colors to coordinate with the decor on the outside of the house. Installing UPVC fascias and soffits rather than wooden ones will save a lot of money over the life of your home. Other than annual cleaning, the components will not have to be replaced.Click here to get in touch
